I help bright kids learn life’s most important lessons through chess.

I see kids fall into the same bad habits. They play addicting games on your iPad, watch TV for hours on end, and run around the house begging you to entertain them.

So when I tell parents that the kids I work with sit quietly for hours at a time without any electronic devices… they are shocked. They beg me to share with them my secret.

My secret is that I get kids engaged in the most beautiful game in the world: chess.

Kids think they are playing a game and having fun, which they are. But in reality, they are learning all the lessons that will help them succeed in life.

Lessons like how to concentrate, solve difficult problems, learn from your mistakes, think critically, and to never give up.

You might already be playing chess with your kid. But you may not have the time to teach them advanced chess concepts incorporate these life lessons in your chess games. This is where I come in.

My name is Tam and I help bright kids learn life's most important lessons through chess.

I have taught 120+ different students at 5 different schools a week. I became a private chess coach to 4-years-old who are moving each piece for the very first time and kids who actively compete in scholastic chess tournaments.

About Tam

I played chess for the first time at 10 years old with my younger sister during a boring summer break. It wasn’t long until my interest became an obsession.

I competed in my first chess tournament at age 13 and became the captain of my high school chess club at age 15. Two of the proudest moments of my life was when I helped our school place 2nd in the State Championship and I personally placed 3rd in the Jr. National Chess Championship.

The lessons I’ve learned in chess helped me tremendously for life.

My hope is that I can help as many kids as I can fall in love with the beautiful game of chess.
